What AutoAid promises, and what it deliberately does not.
AutoAid matches the symptoms, answers and photos you provide against a library of common car and motorcycle fault patterns. It does not read your vehicle's ECU and does not inspect your vehicle. Its likely causes, confidence percentages and urgency ratings are guidance to help you have a better conversation with a mechanic — they are not a professional diagnosis and carry no guarantee.
Anything affecting brakes, steering, tyres, suspension, fuel or a flashing red warning light should be inspected by a qualified mechanic before you drive or ride. If something feels unsafe, stop somewhere safe. You remain responsible for the roadworthiness of your vehicle.
All prices shown are indicative UK reference ranges: a fixed parts range per job, a typical labour time, and a regional labour rate band. They are not quotes, not offers, and not sourced from garages near you. A higher real quote is not automatically wrong — genuine parts, dealer rates and specialist work legitimately cost more.
MOT and vehicle details retrieved by registration come from the DVSA MOT History API under the Open Government Licence. Where DVSA holds no record, AutoAid says so rather than filling the gap. AutoAid is independent of DVSA and DVLA.
AutoAid is free to use and funded by adverts and clearly labelled partner links. A partner relationship never changes which faults are shown, their urgency, or their cost range.
