Short version: your vehicles, photos and reports stay on your device.
Your saved vehicles, registration lookups, symptom descriptions, photos, diagnoses, quote checks and postcode are held in your browser's local storage on your own device. There is no account, no sign-up and no user profile. AutoAid does not upload or keep a copy of them.
When you look up a registration, that registration is sent to the DVSA MOT History API to retrieve the official record for the vehicle. It is used only to answer that lookup. AutoAid is independent and is not affiliated with DVSA or DVLA.
Photos you add are held on your device for the diagnosis you attached them to. They are not published, not shared with other users and not used to train anything.
AutoAid is free and may show adverts supplied by Google AdSense. Adverts, and any cookies they use, only load after you accept the cookie banner. If you decline, the app works exactly the same with no adverts. AutoAid does not sell personal data.
Links to garages, parts suppliers or breakdown cover may earn AutoAid a commission. They are always labelled as partner links, cost you nothing extra, and never change your diagnosis, urgency rating or cost guide.
Because your data is stored on your device and not on a server, you control it directly: delete an individual report in the app, or clear this site's data in your browser to remove everything. Under UK GDPR you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
